The Flamenco Palace in Barcelona (Palacio del Flamenco) provides an excellent opportunity to see one of the symbols of Spain - the flamenco dance. The first documented mention of this dance dates back to the 18th century, when the flamenco genre combined the musical influences of all cultures that existed then in Andalusia. Flamenco is also known as the “Gypsy heritage”, because it was the Gypsy community that arrived in Andalusia at the end of the 15th century that greatly influenced the formation and character of this genre. Despite the fact that traditionally they go to Andalusia for flamenco, this art is respected and loved by everyone and in Barcelona, the Catalans learn from childhood how to move and sing, many do it professionally. This is exactly the kind of flamenco dance that the guests of the city are offered to see in the Flamenco Palace of Barcelona. Flamenco Palace is located in the very center of Barcelona, it can accommodate up to 450 spectators. The repertoire includes three programs, performances run daily. On stage, 15 artists perform: singers, dancers and guitarists. The performance includes choreographic numbers, solo and in groups. The evening begins with energetic, passionate, impressive dance sketches, followed by flamenco dances in full version. The guitar and the clapping of the palms resound in unison with the sound of heels and the movements of the dancers, bringing you into the world of passion and fire, beauty, plastics, light and the power of love. Improvisation of performers allows each time to observe different versions of the dance, which are never repeated. The performance lasts 60 minutes and begins after the guests have dinner at the restaurant of the Palace Balčenea, whose chefs have 25 years of experience, and the waiters speak many languages.
