His own "meteorite" appeared in Khanty-Mansiysk 10 years ago. A giant crystal "formed" in the city center in just three years of construction! - and turned into Russia's only state "oil" museum. According to Structural Engineering International (SEI) magazine (Zurich, Switzerland, 2003), the museum building is in the top 10 of the world's original architectural structures built in difficult climatic conditions.
The total area of the museum is 7700 square meters. meters, its funds contain more than 20 thousand items and exhibits on the history of oil and gas production in the country. In addition, only here you can see for yourself the unique exposure of minerals. The pride of the museum is an unusual druse of calcite crystals, which was found in 2004 in the Berezovsky district of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra.
No less unique and interesting is the collection of meteorites, collected in the museum. In total, there are eight “space aliens” in the Earth Science Museum. Four are almost entirely made of iron, only one is stone. Over the years, these meteorites found on the territory of Russia, Oman and Sweden, although the celestial bodies themselves appeared long before humans. The approximate age of these meteorites, according to the expert opinion of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is 4.5 billion years.
