Tsekertinsky Khurul was built in memory of the Kalmyks who participated in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. A three-tiered yellow building-pagoda, decorated with twelve dragons, a wheel of time and meek deer became an ornament of the steppe village. The author of the project khurula is the director of the state farm KI Bembeev. Residents of the district took part in the construction of the khurul. The walls of the dwelling building were erected for six months. Two more months were required for carpentry and finishing works, construction of outbuildings, electrification and gasification of the building. The ceremonial opening of the khurul at the Tsekert state farm of the Chernozemelsky district was timed to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama XIV.
