Restaurant Can Travi Nou is located in the city, which is unusual, as it is an old mansion of the 17th century, which the Catalan family owned from generation to generation. In 1982, it was decided to open a restaurant on its territory. Such restaurants in Catalonia are called “Masia”, most often they are located in small villages or hidden away from civilization among forests and fields. If you do not have the opportunity to go out into the countryside, but you want to try traditional village cuisine in the atmosphere of “village rural side”, reserve a table in Can Travi Nou. Around the restaurant there is a magnificent garden, the house is entwined with grapes and flowers, there is a chicken coop behind the house, and inside there is a refined decor, the space is decorated with vintage furniture and antique items. Very atmospheric place, elegant and at the same time cozy. As if you are visiting a Catalan grandmother with excellent taste. Woody Alain filmed here one of the scenes for the film “Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona”, and local couples love to celebrate weddings and other celebrations here. What to try in a typical Catalan manor? The most popular dishes in such places are usually of meat, but Can Travi Nou deviate slightly from the standards; lobsters with chickpeas, cod with garlic crema, rice with rabbit and artichokes come here. Here are cooked on the coals steaks from veal and lamb ribs. The appetizer serves octopus, scallops, black pudding and anchovies. From November to April they fry onion calsots. And from local desserts, which are allocated a separate menu, just blows the head. Food prices are above average, about 20 €. After the meal, we recommend a stroll around the area around the restaurant. You will see a completely different Barcelona, in which tourists rarely fall.
